About the Role:

Private practice orthodontic office in Costa Mesa, CA is looking for a talented and motivated Orthodontic RDA or DA to join our growing team! This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic orthodontic environment where patient care and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. If you're passionate about creating beautiful smiles and delivering an exceptional patient experience, we'd love to hear from you! The position is for part-time on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. (Possibly every other Friday also). Must have some back office dental assisting experience. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during patient exams, adjustments, and orthodontic procedures
• Place and remove orthodontic appliances, archwires, and ligatures under orthodontist supervision
• Take and process digital X-rays, photographs, and dental impressions or iTero scans
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment progress
• Sterilize and maintain instruments, equipment, and treatment areas per infection control protocols
• Accurately document patient records and treatment notes in practice management software
• Provide a warm, welcoming experience that keeps patients and families comfortable throughout treatment

Requirements:

• Current California RDA license or DA certification preferred
• Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with orthodontic appliances including braces, clear aligners, and retainers
• Radiography (X-ray) certification required or ability to obtain
• Proficiency with dental practice management software and digital imaging systems
• Strong communication skills with patients of all ages, including children and teens
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and punctual.
