Maintenance Technician II

Pay Range: $3235/hr

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in maintenance and repair
• Valid driver's license required

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school education with an emphasis in electrical/mechanical equipment or metal fabrication
• Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water/wastewater treatment operations
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical pump motors, and safe work practices
• Ability to enter data into a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery, and equipment
• Lubricate equipment and inspect for malfunctions
• Replace packing in pumps or valves and replace bearings in motors, pumps, and related equipment
• Tune engines, set valve clearances, clean, and adjust regulators
• Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause and help prevent recurrence
• Install and set up new equipment
• Clean pipes and perform plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as needed
• Operate gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld
• Assist with maintaining maintenance records
• Communicate effectively regarding recommended maintenance and repair procedures
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Perform other duties as assigned
