Terry Pegula rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected leaders in the energy industry, and the Pegula's are one of the few professional sports owners to operate franchises in multiple sports, also owning the Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Buffalo Bandits (NLL), and Rochester Americans (AHL).Position SummaryThe Buffalo Bills Finance department is seeking a versatile and proactive Accounts Payable Manager who will be responsible for the complete cycle of processing vendor invoices with heavy seasonal volume (level and title dependent on qualifications of candidate selected). The ideal candidate is a customer-focused professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional service.Primary ResponsibilitiesOwn and administer SAP Concur end-to-end for the organization, overseeing vendor invoice processing, employee expense report workflows, and ACH Vendor payment processing; serve as the primary system administrator responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.Make timely bill payments for multiple entities by prioritizing and meeting established deadlinesWork closely with Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure quotes are being fulfilled, and the pricing is consistent with prior purchases/agreementsWork directly with the stadium construction and campus development team to process project payments and organizing project documentationMatch purchase orders and contracts to corresponding invoices while reporting and questioning any discrepanciesProcess invoices for payment, ensuring no duplicate invoices or billingsProcess expense reports and reimbursementsPrepare and organize detailed check registers to be included with checks for review and approvalHandle vendor correspondence as requested, research and resolve account issues and billing inconsistencies, as well as serve as liaison with departments on internal inquiriesReconcile monthly statements from vendorsPromptly respond to and resolve staff and vendor inquiriesPost journal entries and perform various general ledger analyses as needed or requested by departmentsMaintain a high level of confidentialityComplete and request W-9's from vendors in compliance with IRS guidelinesMaintain 1099s and generate report at year endAccrue weekly sales taxValidate approved invoices before processing check runReconcile monthly operating account bank statements and upload weekly positive pay files to bankFill out and provide credit applications as neededMonitor the managed email box for the Accounts Payable department and follow up & respond to any vendor inquiries in a timely mannerOpen and assign new vendor accountsAssist as needed with an ERP System implementation.Assist with annual auditsPosition RequirementsBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experienceAt least 3-5 years of experience in Accounts PayableExceptional organization skills and strong attention to detailPrior experience with Great Plains and NetSuite accounting softwareHighly self-motivated and directed; detail-oriented with strong communication skillsAble to organize, plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentAbility to work effectively with internal staff and external vendorsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamWork Environment/Physical RequirementsThis position operates in an office environment and requires sitting or standing at a computer desk for long periods of timeThis is not a remote position.
