Posting Information Hourly Rate: $34.00-36.00 per hour (rates determined based on relevant experience) Hours per week: 21 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9AM-4PM, plus on-call Tuesday and Thursday) Job Classification: Nonexempt, Seasonal Job Type: Hybrid Duration: June22,2026– August14,2026 Location: deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Lincoln, MA What You’ll Do As the deCordova Camper Support Specialist, you will leverage your understanding of behavioral modification and child development to support campers, staff, and caregivers in a place‑based, art‑and‑nature camp environment. You will prepare staff, facilitate workshops, and coordinate individualized supports to ensure a successful camp experience. Responsibilities Assist in setting up indoor and outdoor activity and quiet spaces that allow all campers to flourish. Lead staff training on supporting campers with a range of needs. Review camper records and documents (IEPs, Behavior Plans, etc.) prior to attendance. Communicate with caregivers to set up campers for success before or during camp. Take lead in coordinating and implementing strategy plans for campers who would benefit from accommodations and modifications. Support instructors and junior instructors (ages 15‑18) with camper accommodations. Ensure proper completion and documentation of administrative duties related to camper accommodations and modifications. Qualifications & Experience Master’s degree or equivalent experience in social work, education, child development, or related field. Proven expertise in trauma‑informed practices, neurodiversity, behavior modification, and special education. Creative, passionate, open‑minded, with extensive knowledge of behavioral, social, and developmental needs of campers and caregivers. Effective documenter of camper behavior with ability to share observations and ideas with staff and caregivers. Proficient in reading IEPs and other documents and providing insight to best support campers. Experience working with children with diverse needs, abilities, and interests. Effective communicator and collaborator with strong interpersonal skills: helpful, calm, friendly demeanor. Eligibility Criteria Must be at least 21 years old. Full availability for staff training sessions late May/early June and all camp weeks (June29– August14). Must have or be willing to obtain Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification (provided if necessary). Able and willing to work across a 30‑acre site, indoors and outdoors, in all weather. Able to lift 40 pounds. Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment. A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.
