We are seeking a talentedQuality Assurance Coordinatorto join our team of nearly 500 employees. The Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality and compliance of both clinical and non-clinical behavioral health services provided by the Monroe County Office of Mental Health. This position will ensure compliance with regulatory, and organizational standards, which includes conducting clinical record reviews, analyzing quality data, supporting performance improvement initiatives, and collaborating with clinical teams to promote best practices and positive client outcomes.

In this role, you will
Conduct routine audits of clinical documentation and record keeping to ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards, and report results to leaders or committees.
Develop, implement, and maintain standards of care for programs that do not fall under a regulatory body.
Review client records to assess overall documentation quality, consistency, and alignment with applicable standards.
Identify trends, deficiencies, and opportunities for quality improvement through data analysis.
Responsible for developing department specific QA Plans on an annual basis
Design, maintain, and utilize quality assurance reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making and programmatic performance monitoring.
Provide feedback and education to staff regarding documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist in developing implementing and monitoring corrective action plans when deficiencies are identified.
Support organizational readiness efforts for accreditation reviews, regulatory audits, program evaluations, and external surveys. Participate in quality improvement committees and performance improvement projects.
Collaborate with compliance /HR/legal to identify systemic concerns and implement improvement activities.
Develop and lead an internal incident review process.
Assist with the development and monitoring of quality assurance and improvement policies and procedures, making revisions as needed
Collaborate with program managers, clinical supervisors, and leadership to improve service quality.
In collaboration with the Privacy Officer, assist with medical record requests.
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and other applicable privacy and security regulations governing protected health information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in behavioral health, mental health services, or healthcare quality assurance. (see CCSI's equivalency chart) (
Knowledge of behavioral health documentation standards and evidence-based practices.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong understanding of OMH, OASAS, OPWDD regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
