What you'll be doing at Autism Care Partners:

The Physical Therapist is responsible for addressing the functional needs of the children we serve related to adaptive development, adaptive behavior, play and sensory, motor, and postural development. The overall goal for the Physical Therapist is to improve the child's functional ability to perform tasks in home, school, and community settings.

• Evaluate child to establish a plan of care
• Conduct annual reevaluations.
• Develop long term goals and objectives as part of the plan of care for all children, and update at the end of each authorization period.
• Administer evidence-based therapy approaches.
• Implement child-centered treatment sessions that promote child's ability to perform basic functions necessary for an everyday routine.
• Complete daily progress notes after child's sessions which describe treatment given, progress observed, and patient response to treatment.
• Submits a discharge summary from therapy, as needed.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintains communication with therapy team (Teachers, Board Certified Behavioral Analysts, Speech Language Pathologists, and Direct-Care Staff), parents/guardians, and billing department, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Experience working with special needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) etc.
• Understanding of and ability to practice in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Flexibility and adaptability in providing services and scheduling.
• Ability to work independently and be an effective multi-disciplinary team member.
• Ability to physically adapt in response to the child's movements and play.
• Ability to lift children 20-50 pounds when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Licensed and currently registered to practice Physical Therapy in the State of NY.
• Experience working with children.
