Assistant Director of Nursing – Seattle, WA The Campus Director of Nursing Services helps create a joyful and vibrant community by coordinating and overseeing health and supportive services for residents. The role ensures residents’ healthcare needs are met through effective daily clinical operations, staff training, and collaborative care coordination. Essential Job Functions Fosters a resident‑centered approach to planning and delivering services, supporting rights to participate in decision‑making and treating residents with dignity and respect. Assists with quality assurance in collaboration with the Executive Director. Assesses residents’ health, functional, and psychosocial status, initiating individualized service plans and proactively managing care to maximize resident independence. Coordinates with other community professionals—physicians, discharge planners, nurses, home health staff, case managers, and state agencies—to meet resident care needs, arranging ancillary services such as pharmacy, podiatry, lab, and x‑ray. Delegates nursing tasks within applicable nursing laws and practice acts, communicating regularly with residents, families, and health care practitioners. Seeks additional expertise when needed to assure resident needs are met and proper practices followed. Provides training, supervision, and monitoring of staff delivering personal care, medication management, and other health‑related services, ensuring philosophy of care is practiced. Communicates regularly with residents’ families regarding health care needs and provides instruction and reassurance for maintaining health and managing medical conditions. Problem‑solves with the Executive Director to manage residents with challenging needs, advising on urgent problems and actions to take when health concerns arise. Ensures all resident care is properly documented, records are completed timely, and maintained per company policies. Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of resident‑care regulations and applies new knowledge to meet changing needs. Leads the HCA Training program at the assigned location, meeting state requirements. Participates in marketing efforts, representing the residence positively to external agencies and in community social functions. Attends required meetings and trainings, staying current on system‑assigned tasks and duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience, Qualifications & Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or accredited Nursing diploma; RN license in good standing. Minimum 2 years of geriatric nursing experience with medication administration, delivery systems, and pharmacy. Experience with state regulations and survey knowledge is a plus. One year supervisory/management experience, including budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling; additional coursework in management is an asset. Basic computer proficiency and aptitude to learn company applications. Creative problem‑solving skills in resident care and employee management. Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check. Compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population. Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Positive communication skills with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and employees. Maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding proficiency. Meets all mandatory health requirements per state regulations. Works independently with minimal supervision.
