The Speech‑Language Pathologist will provide high‑quality, school‑based speech and language services to elementary students across Rocketship Public Schools. This role is responsible for screening, evaluating, diagnosing, and supporting students with speech, language, communication, fluency, voice, articulation, auditory comprehension, cognitive‑communication, and augmentative and alternative communication needs. The Speech‑Language Pathologist will provide both direct and consultative services, develop and implement legally compliant Individualized Education Programs, collaborate with families and school teams, and support students’ access to instruction and participation in the school environment. This position plays an important role in supporting students with disabilities and ensuring services are delivered in alignment with student needs, compliance requirements, and Rocketship’s mission. Student Services and Support Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based speech and language therapy services to students. Deliver direct and indirect services aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs and identified educational needs. Address student needs related to articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, cognitive‑communication, auditory comprehension, and augmentative and alternative communication. Support students’ communication skills so they can access instruction, participate in classroom activities, and engage meaningfully in the school environment. Monitor student progress and adjust services, supports, and recommendations based on data, student needs, and team input. Develop instructional and therapeutic materials to support student growth and evaluate commercially available materials when appropriate. Evaluations, IEPs, and Compliance Conduct student screenings and assessments related to speech, language, voice, fluency, articulation, communication, and augmentative and alternative communication needs. Prepare clear, thorough, and compliant evaluation reports and documentation. Develop high‑quality, legally compliant IEP goals, service recommendations, and intervention plans. Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, staff meetings, and other required meetings. Present evaluation findings, student present levels, progress updates, and recommended services and supports to IEP teams. Maintain organized and accurate student files, service logs, treatment records, progress data, and required documentation. Meet required timelines related to evaluations, IEP development, service delivery, progress reporting, and compliance requirements. Collaboration and Consultation Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, families, related service providers, and other members of the student support team. Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding speech and language needs, classroom strategies, accommodations, and interventions. Support pre‑referral interventions and Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports, as appropriate. Provide professional development, coaching, and guidance to school staff and families when needed. Communicate proactively with the appropriate supervisor or program leader regarding student needs, service delivery, schedule changes, concerns, or program updates. Partner with families to support understanding of student needs and strategies that promote communication development and student success. Professional Responsibilities Manage time effectively, follow assigned schedules, and communicate any needed schedule changes to appropriate personnel. Stay current on best practices, research, and developments in the field of speech‑language pathology. Participate in professional learning, seminars, relevant literature review, and professional organizations as appropriate or assigned. Maintain strong professional relationships with students, families, school personnel, and network staff. Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the appropriate administrator. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or a closely related field. Valid license, certification, or credential required to provide speech‑language pathology services in Wisconsin, or ability to obtain required authorization prior to the start of employment. Strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, intervention, and service delivery in an educational setting. Ability to develop and implement legally compliant IEPs. Ability to collect, analyze, and use student data to inform services and supports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with students, families, educators, school administrators, related service providers, and network staff. Strong organization skills and ability to maintain records, meet deadlines, and manage compliance‑related responsibilities. Commitment to Rocketship Public Schools’ mission, vision, and goals. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and evolving school environment. Ability to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of a school‑based Speech‑Language Pathologist. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with elementary‑age students. Experience providing speech‑language services in a school‑based setting. Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and communication needs. Experience participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Experience supporting augmentative and alternative communication needs. Experience providing consultation, coaching, or professional development to school staff and families. Salary band for this role ranges from $80,000 to $87,500 annually. Final salary will be determined based on relevant experience and in accordance with the applicable salary schedule for related service providers.
