Social Media Content Creator

Timing : ASAP Duration : 2-3 months to start; potential contract-to-hire Hrs/wk : 30-40, some flexibility Location : Hybrid onsite preferred, but not required (Detroit, MI) Pay rate : $25-35/hr. We're seeking a creative, social-first Content Creator who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, design, video production, and digital culture. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating engaging content, stays ahead of emerging trends, and understands how to connect with audiences across today's evolving social media landscape. The ideal candidate is highly creative, organized, and adaptable, with the ability to concept, capture, edit, and publish compelling content across a variety of platforms. You'll collaborate closely with creative, social, and marketing teams while also taking ownership of content creation from idea to execution. This position includes occasional travel for content capture and on-site productions. Key Responsibilities Create and edit engaging social-first content, including photography, video, graphics, GIFs, and short-form animations Develop platform-specific content optimized for channels such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, X, Snapchat, Threads, and emerging platforms Write compelling captions and copy that align with brand voice and platform best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop content concepts and execute creative campaigns Monitor social, cultural, and industry trends to identify opportunities for timely and relevant content Capture content on-site during events, productions, and brand activations as needed Present and communicate creative ideas, recommendations, and content strategies to internal stakeholders Maintain content calendars and manage multiple projects across varying timelines and priorities Analyze content performance and provide insights to inform future creative decisions Support the creation of motion graphics, animations, and enhanced visual storytelling assets when applicable Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, Digital Media, or a related field preferred 3+ years of experience creating social-first content for brands, agencies, media companies, or digital platforms Strong portfolio showcasing photography, video, design, and social content across multiple platforms Deep understanding of social media trends, audience behavior, and platform best practices Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects Experience using mobile editing and content creation tools such as CapCut, InShot, or similar applications Skilled in content capture using DSLR cameras, smartphones, and related production equipment Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high creative standards Experience with motion graphics, animation, or long-form storytelling content is a plus Willingness to travel occasionally for content capture and production needs Preferred Traits Creative, curious, and highly collaborative Passionate about digital culture, storytelling, and emerging social trends Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on content execution Self-starter who can work independently while contributing positively to a team environment #J-18808-Ljbffr 24 Seven Talent
