# of Positions: Multiple Work Location: Sacramento County Telework: Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Department: Caltrans Department Website: Job Description And Duties Under the direction of the Branch Chief of Encroachment Permits, a Senior Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent Transportation Engineer (Civil) is responsible for assisting in the development and administration of the statewide Caltrans Encroachment Permits Program. The incumbent develops guidance, procedures, training material, tools, reports, and quality management to improve the program. The incumbent coordinates with other divisions such as Design, Maintenance, Inspections, Right of Way, Legal, Information Technology, Audits, and Accounting on permitting program activities. The incumbent also provides functional direction and engineering consultation to district staff on issues related to Caltrans policies and procedures associated with the issuance of encroachment permits and permit inspections. Special Requirements Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. Failure to submit a SOQ disqualifies candidates from the hiring process. The SOQ must contain: Describe how you resolve complex and sensitive issues involving multiple stakeholders and accurately analyze situations to determine an effective course of action. Describe your relevant experience in developing, interpreting, and implementing standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
