Charge Nurse

Mercy Hospital in Ada, OK is seeking an experienced behavioral health charge nurse for full time day shift. The Charge Registered Nurse will utilize theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with standards of nursing practice. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care for psychiatric patients, monitoring and documenting patient progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions, providing patient and family education, promoting safety through de-escalation strategies and crisis intervention, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care. Overseeing nursing staff is also required.

Qualifications: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN). Active RN license. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, Other unit specific certifications as required. Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
