We work in close coordination with Electrical Engineering to develop hardware and software solutions to some of the hardest problems facing our customers.About the RoleWe are looking for a Firmware Engineer to develop low-level embedded software and help build the tests that verify it works. You'll work alongside senior engineers to update requirements, write firmware in C, and write tests to prove the code does what it should. If you want to grow your embedded skills on real defense platforms that ship in months — not years — this is the role.What You'll Do:Develop low-level firmware in C for microcontrollers across multiple product platformsWrite and execute test procedures that verify firmware behavior against requirementsDebug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundariesSupport board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration alongside cross-functional teamsHelp maintain requirements traceability to ensure every requirement has a corresponding testContribute to multiple projects at various stages from prototype through productionRequired Qualifications:BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience2+ years of firmware/embedded software development experienceSolid C coding ability for embedded systemsExperience with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, or similar)Familiarity with board bring-up, debugging tools, and coding best practicesExposure to writing or executing test procedures for embedded firmwareStrong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skillsMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)Experience with an RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, VxWorks, or similar)Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS)Experience building or contributing to automated test frameworks for embedded systemsComfortable with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automationInterest in defense technology and mission-driven workUS Salary Range$166,000 - $220,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
