Children’s Center is a private, non-profit child advocacy center accredited by the National Children’s Alliance. Children are referred to us by law enforcement agencies, child protective workers, parents, teachers, health care providers, and others concerned for their welfare. Our mission is to work with the community to end child abuse and neglect through assessment, treatment, and prevention. Our vision is to build a world where all children feel safe, valued, and heard.
The Role
The Part-Time Development Coordinator plays a key role in our fund development efforts by supporting the administration of the development program; coordinating the appropriate gift receipting process; tracking and administering grant submissions and reports; managing and maintaining the donor database; supporting fundraising events and campaigns.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manages databases by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of donors, including contact information, giving history, communication preferences and contacts donors as necessary.
- Processes donations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Prepares and sends donation receipts to donors in a timely manner.
- Assists the development team to plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and special events.
- Assists in implementing donor cultivation strategies to engage and retain current donors.
- Sends thank-you letters, acknowledgment emails, and personalized communications to express gratitude to donors.
- In collaboration with Grants Manager, maintains the grant calendar to track reporting requirements.
- Supports the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, such as galas, charity auctions, and donor appreciation events.
- Coordinates volunteers to help support with development activities.
- Provides administrative support for the development team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials for presentations.
- Coordinates with donors and foundations to tour the center.
- Prepares reports for the development department and other departments as requested.
- Monitors department email accounts and responds to routine requests.
- Assists with social media and email communications.
- Assists in the collection of stories, content, images, videos, statistics, for use in presentations, social media, and collateral materials.
- In partnership with Development Director, manages the organizational brand and collateral materials.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.

What We Require:
- Associates degree and 2 years’ professional experience such as marketing, sales, customer service, development or in the non-profit sector.
- Valid driver’s license, motorized vehicle, and vehicle insurance. Ability to transport self reliably to and from fundraising activities and events.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively, including clarity of thought, and grammar, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in or ability to learn CRM database management.
- Ability to do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, problem solve, act with discretion and be gracious.
- Ability to work effectively alone, as part of a group, or as a team leader depending on context and needs.
What We Prefer:
- Public speaking experience.
- Experience and comfort in fundraising and data management.
Additional Information:
- This is a Part-Time position, working 32 hours/4 days per week.
- This position allows for a hybrid work schedule where the employee can work remotely one day per week, based on the demands of the task and organization after the 90-day Introductory Period has been successfully completed. Some evening and weekend hours are required for fundraising activities and event requirements.
- Our Center has a facility dog who is present in the workplace on a daily basis.
