Temporary Community Manager - The Overlook at Walnut Creek

Position Overview This role manages the day-to-day operations of an assigned property, ensuring that the operation of the property complies with company policies, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other applicable laws and regulations governing multi-family housing operations. Responsibilities Oversee and provide leadership to the property management team. Manage the property’s budget, ensuring revenues meet targeted goals and expenditures stay within approved limits. Set rent rates, collect rent and fees, make bank deposits, and prepare monthly financial status reports. Approve invoices from vendors, contractors, and service providers, reconciling work performed or products purchased. Control expenditures, manage petty cash, and maintain accurate financial records. Administer lease enforcement processes, approve prospective resident applications, renew leases, conduct periodic apartment inspections, and enforce lease terms. Gather and analyze market and economic trends, developing short- and long-term marketing and leasing strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue goals. Respond to resident complaints, questions, and requests in a timely manner, resolving service issues and ensuring resident satisfaction. Ensure the maintenance staff follows company standards for completing resident service requests and conducts regular property inspections. Interview, hire, orient, train, and evaluate property staff, managing performance in accordance with company policies. Maintain client/owner relationships by meeting owners, conducting property tours, providing updates, and addressing owner requests. Complete accounting, financial, administrative, and other reports and perform other duties as assigned. For California locations: manage the lease process using the California Lease File Checklist. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Real Estate, or related field preferred. 4-6 years of relevant experience in property management, sales, marketing, or customer service. Proven ability to manage day-to-day operations of an apartment community, resolve customer complaints, complete financial records, and coordinate team work. Experience with Yardi preferred; familiarity with AIRM is a plus. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively. Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property and ability to supervise others who drive the golf cart. Proficiency in Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and property management software (preferably Entrata, Yardi, and/or OneSite). Prior knowledge of Fair Housing and related regulations. Work Environment & Physical Demands Team members work in an office environment and may have frequent exposure to outdoor elements. Must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance. Routine local travel may be required for bank deposits, training, and outreach events. Salary & Compensation Salary range: 77000-90000 (Walnut Creek). Eligible for quarterly or annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance.
