Responsibilities Conducts inspections through the utilization of measuring instruments that provide for accuracy. Uses calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and scales. Troubleshoots malfunctions by editing specifications and ensuring maintenance of machines. Continuously performs preventative maintenance, which includes cleaning and maintaining safe workspaces. Meets the organizational production goals including cycle time, quantity, and quality to enhance machining excellence. Utilizes blueprints and dimensions, machine instructions, and special project guidelines. May have working knowledge of programming CNC machines to ensure proper calculations, parameters, and other conditional requirements are met. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. May provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to a subordinate group. This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent 2 to 4 years’ experience in a related position Ability to read and write and perform basic math skills Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Safety Mindset Preferred Requirements Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skills trades program Previous warehouse experience – especially in the metals industry Previous forklift experience Use of handheld measuring tools Computer literate.
