UNIT NOTES
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
CTC infusion nurse performs the following:
• Chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration (IV, IM, SQ)
• Antibiotic administration
• Biologics administration
• Blood product administration (PRBC, platelets, FFP)
• Therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
• Central line maintenance (PICC dressing changes, Client flushes)
• Other supportive care infusions

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
• EPIC BEACON,
• ICU medical Plum 360 IV pumps and CADD CIV pumps
• Omnicell
• Hoyer lifts and sara steady
• occasional US for tough IV starts


Required skills and minimum years of experience.
• Experience in IV therapy with excellent IV skills.
• Prior experience with chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration


Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
• BLS
• ONS chemotherapy immunotherapy provider card
• OCN preferred
• Active Oregon RN license


Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
We are open 7 days/week. Monday - Friday, 0800-1800, with Saturday/Sunday, typically 0730-1230 flexes to volume. Occasional weekends will be required. Team oriented environment, working in PODs with RN partners and with CNA support.

33 chairs and 2 private rooms, with planned expansion of 4 more chairs

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Typical number throughout the day is 6-9 patients, depending upon acuity.

Dress Code:
Scrubs mask required for know neutropenic patients as well as unvaccinated employees during mask-on flu season.


Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Unit training would occur with a preceptor for 2-3 days, learning our routine and processes then will be surrounded by other team members who can support for questions or concerns.
