Starting Rate: Under 18 $14/hour, 18+ $16/hour Hours: Monday- Friday 2:15pm-6:15pm – Flexible on school schedule Office Location: 75 E Richmond St. Westmont, IL 60559 The Westmont Park District located in Westmont, IL has an opening for a member of our management team. The District serves approximately 25,000 residents with over 155 acres of parks, a 9 hole golf course, fitness center and offers over 1,000 programs each year. Job Description: Primary responsibility is to ensure that all persons have a safe and enjoyable experience while visiting or using the Westmont Park District facilities. The Westmont Park District is seeking individuals to join it’s after school program staff. Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, the Kids Club Counselor is responsible for implementing and running daily activities at the Kids Club after school program. Counselors will be responsible for supervising groups of children grades K-5. Counselors will take attendance, monitor and run activities, as well as communicate with parents. Essential Job Duties: Serve as role models for participants. Create or plan games and theme ideas for the week. Assist with weekly activity plans Chaperone on field trips React to incidents calmly with the appropriate form of action when required. Properly enforce code of conduct and disciplinary procedures Assist in preparing assigned areas for the children, as well as, clean it up and put all materials away before leaving. Provide conflict resolution for patrons

Keep attendance records. Maintain daily communication with the Recreation Coordinator Perform any additional related tasks as required. Physical Demands: In a roughly 4-hour workday, employee may engage in activities that may include, but are not limited to: Standing, sitting, walking, driving, bending, twisting and lifting. Ability to actively participate in recreational activities and outdoor programs. Ability to stand, walk, run, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions Qualifications: Candidate must be 16 years of age or older or 15 years of age with a school issued work permit.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Basic understanding of how recreation programs work. Additional knowledge in safety, camps, and children’s activities is a plus. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
