Cashier

Pay: $12.00 per hour
Hours: 15-25 hours per week
Location: In person

Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at a busy gas station and convenience store. In this role, you will be the face of our store - providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system to process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately

• Greet customers and assist them with purchases in a friendly, professional manner

• Handle cash responsibly and follow all cash-handling procedures

• Promote store specials and upsell products when appropriate

• Stock shelves and merchandise displays to keep products neat and well-presented

• Maintain cleanliness of the checkout area and store environment

• Assist with inventory stocking and merchandising

• Answer customer questions and resolve concerns promptly

• Follow proper phone etiquette when assisting customers by phone

• Support daily store operations as needed

Qualifications

• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred (convenience store or grocery experience a plus)

• Comfortable using POS systems and handling basic math

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Supervisory or leadership experience is a plus

• Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required

• Experience with upselling, merchandising, or product demos is helpful but not required
