Medical Science Liaison, Immunology – GI (Rocky Mountain Territory) Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is recruiting for a Medical Science Liaison, Immunology – GI covering Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. The ideal location is Denver, CO. Responsibilities Provide fair, balanced, objective scientific information and education to opinion leaders (OLs), health care professionals, and internal partners as required. Serve as the established scientific and clinical knowledge lead on current and future J&J Innovative Medicine products within the GI/IBD therapeutic area. Stay abreast of current scientific and treatment landscape trends in the therapeutic area. Provide research support for company- and investigator-initiated research. Build and maintain external relationships with identified OLs and health care providers across the territory, prioritizing in-person engagements when appropriate. Develop and maintain a territory strategic plan, including educational activities with identified OLs, HCPs, institutions, and community practices. Demonstrate strong foundational capabilities in influence, results focus, communication, stakeholder engagement, product and therapeutic area knowledge, and data insights. Apply robust understanding of trial design and data interpretation to support clinical research initiatives. Identify opportunities for compliant collaboration with field-based partners to support healthcare providers and enhance patient care. Apply competencies of change management, time management, and innovation to adapt to a dynamic field environment. Ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements and healthcare compliance standards. Respond in a timely manner to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health care systems, academic medical centers, and population health decision makers, integrating scientific data—including real‑world evidence—into practice. Present data and information appropriately for each audience and request. Execute proactive and reactive outreach plans approved through the legal/HCC exceptions process. Prioritize franchise customer‑based initiatives and field responsibilities while balancing administrative duties. Leverage knowledge of standards of care and company/investigator–sponsored clinical trials to facilitate external–internal research communication. Engage with external investigators on unsolicited research inquiries and act as liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations teams. Provide clinical trial support: site identification, issue resolution, site initiation visits, investigator launch meetings. Lead at least one scientific or strategic Immunology project, identifying educational gaps and elevating team acumen. Participate in team calls, trainings, and journal clubs; attend and provide leadership at scientific conferences. Actively listen for, document, and share medical insights; synthesize data and insights for the MSL team and partners. Represent and support JNJ at scientific meetings, congresses, symposia, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and speaking engagements. Perform all administrative requirements accurately and compliantly, including expense reports and activity documentation. Provide regional and local support to enhance sales training initiatives and improve field personnel competencies in partnership with Sales Learning & Development. Communicate and collaborate with field‑based partners and other Immunology MSL teams on a routine basis. Lead or participate in large‑scale projects, demonstrating partnership abilities. Maintain thorough understanding of regulatory and health‑care compliance guidelines, corporate policies on ethical business conduct, and Medical Affairs SOPs. Qualifications PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, or PA with 2+ years of relevant therapeutic area (TA) clinical experience. Ability to support up to 75% travel, including overnight and occasional weekend commitments. Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record. Strong presentation skills and experience in the rheumatology and/or immunology work area (strongly preferred). Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote technologies. Desire to reside within the territory (ideal location: Denver, CO). Preferred Qualifications Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical, research, fellowship, or pharmaceutical experience. Experience in rheumatology and/or immunology (highly preferred). Data‑driven decision making, analytics dashboards, and regulatory knowledge. Cross‑functional collaboration and relationship building expertise. Compensation and Benefits Anticipated base pay range: $117,000.00 – $201,250.00. The position is eligible for the company's long‑term incentive program, retirement plan (401(k)), and various time‑off benefits, including vacation, sick leave, holiday pay, parental leave, caregiver leave, and volunteer leave.
