Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Information Systems Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Guaynabo, PR within the banking and consumer lending industry. This role supports a financial services environment with a fintech focus, helping ensure the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems that support high-volume transactional operations.

The Information Systems Specialist will work closely with IT leadership and serve as a senior technical resource for infrastructure administration, systems optimization, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, operational ownership, and contributing to a reliable, secure technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Windows Server environments to ensure performance, reliability, patching, and availability.
- Manage VMware virtualized infrastructure, including monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational support.
- Support LAN/WAN network infrastructure to maintain secure, stable, and efficient connectivity across the environment.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases, including backup, recovery, maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead the resolution of critical incidents in a mission-critical environment.
- Implement security controls, maintain technical documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational and regulatory expectations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $68,000 to $70,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Administer and optimize Windows Server, SQL Server, VMware, and network infrastructure in a production environment.
- Support high-availability systems and lead troubleshooting for critical technology incidents.
- Maintain secure infrastructure operations and support documentation, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Partner with IT leadership to support day-to-day operations and strategic technology initiatives.

- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in information systems, infrastructure, systems administration, or a similar IT role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware, and LAN/WAN networking.
- Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical technology environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and make sound technical decisions.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, both oral and written.
- Strong communication, documentation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in financial services, banking, consumer lending, or fintech environments.
- Microsoft or VMware certifications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, identity and access management, Entra ID, and hybrid Active Directory environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance expectations.
- Experience supporting hybrid or cloud infrastructure environments.
