Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Float)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a float nurse, with unit assignments determined by the nursing supervisor based on staffing needs
• Deliver care across a range of specialty units including medical, surgical, oncology, neurology, cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, orthopedics, trauma, and observation
• Maintain patient ratios that typically run 1:6, adjusting as needed based on unit demand
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Complete required onboarding modules during orientation as directed by the Nurse Educator onsite

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or a compact multi-state RN license — must be in hand at time of submittal; pending licenses are not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
• Prior experience with Cerner EMR is required
• Must be available every other weekend
• Block scheduling is not available for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working as a float or resource nurse across multiple specialty units
• Familiarity with high-acuity specialties such as trauma, cardiac surgery, oncology, or neurology
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
