Entry-level hiring has changed. There are fewer openings, 3 times as many applicants per opening as in 2021, and AI is erasing the jobs that used to be the way in. Employers have stopped doing the teaching, so it has to happen earlier. Generic career advice cannot clear a bar that is moving quickly and differently in every industry.

Every student we enroll gets three things: One Textbook for their field, kept current by Mentors who work in it; One Coach, twice a month, for four years; and One Mentor Network that opens doors a student cannot open alone. We are enrolling our founding class now, with service starting in January, at a premium standard of care.

THE ROLE

We are hiring part-time Coaches to carry their own group of students alongside whatever else they do. You set your own weekly schedule and book sessions directly with your students. What does not flex is the roster: you take a group of students and you stay with them.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

•  Your students.  5 to 10 students, roughly 8 to 12 hours a week. Twice-monthly sessions, starting with a discovery session you build each student's syllabus from. Students who do not yet know what they want start in Exploratory.

•  The Textbook.  You teach your students' Textbook and adapt it to each of them, and you may carry students in more than one. If you have worked in a field we coach, you can shape that Textbook as well.

•  What parents see.  Coach notes, student artifacts, and parent digests, held to a standard we would show any family, with the student's confidence protected.

•  Mentor conversations.  Prep your students so the conversations land, and follow up on what came out of them.

•  Your calendar.  Pick your hours. Sessions are scheduled with your students around your availability, not a shift.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

•  You like this age group.  Not tolerate. Students tell the truth to people who are glad to see them, and coaching stops working without it.

•  A real point of view on careers.  Not a list of tips: a view on how someone gets from a sophomore internship to a career, and what to do when the obvious path closes.

•  Commitment.  One academic year at a minimum, and ideally you stay with your students through college. A student who changes coaches loses the relationship that makes this work.

•  Trust.  Follow-through and integrity, every time. This is the dealbreaker.

•  Patience with a startup.  Things will break mid-session. You adapt in the moment and do not dwell on it afterward.

•  Strong writing.  A large share of our product is written. The bar is high.

•  A plus:  firsthand experience in a field we coach, and relationships in it. Preferred, not required.

WHY THIS SEAT

You want to work with students and make a difference, without giving up what you already do. You choose your hours and coach from anywhere. We ask for one thing in return: stay with your students, because the relationship is the product.
