About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief executive, Board Secretary, and senior fiduciary for the administration of a significant retirement trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellent benefit administration, strong governance, and policy execution, as well as disciplined investment oversight. This role involves leading a skilled team, cultivating an ethical, high-performance culture, and representing the trust with credibility and transparency to members, the city, and the community. Core responsibilities include governance and board relations, member services and plan administration, investments and financial stewardship, operations, technology, and compliance, and people leadership. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' leadership experience in a pension system or similar financial services organization. Essential skills include a strong background in investments, accounting, taxation, pension administration, and payroll/benefit systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement, with desirable credentials such as a JD, CPA, and/or advanced degree in a related field, or a CFA. The role requires a strategic thinker with high emotional intelligence, superior communication, and relationship-building skills, who is adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines. The Executive Director will also be expected to ensure strict compliance with pension laws, drive innovation in business processes and technology, and maintain constructive relationships with the Board, city officials, and external partners.
