This leadership role is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for client engagement, business development, and project delivery.As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead all aspects of energy performance contracting projects, from project development and engineering design through construction, commissioning, and measurement & verification. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while identifying new opportunities and helping expand CMTA's presence in both existing and emerging markets.Candidates with experience in energy services, consulting engineering, commissioning, HVAC systems, or performance contracting are encouraged to apply.What You'll DoServe as the primary client contact throughout all phases of performance contracting projectsEducate clients on the benefits of energy performance contracting and identify opportunities to improve building performance and operational efficiencyCommunicate CMTA's unique approach and value proposition, including technical, operational, and financial benefitsBuild and maintain strong client relationships that drive repeat business and long-term partnershipsParticipate in business development efforts, including client meetings, presentations, industry events, and proposal developmentLead facility assessments, site visits, audits, and energy analysesOversee energy calculations, engineering evaluations, and project development activitiesDirect engineering teams in the preparation of drawings, specifications, and design deliverablesLead bidding and procurement efforts to ensure quality and competitive outcomesCollaborate with clients to finalize project scope and performance contractsPartner with construction managers to ensure successful project executionLead commissioning activities to validate system and project performanceSupport clients throughout project closeout and warranty periodsCollaborate with Measurement & Verification (M&V) professionals to develop first-year M&V reportsApply knowledge of state-specific K-12 design-build procurement processes and requirements as applicableWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited universityMinimum of 5 years of experience with an energy services company, consulting engineering firm, commissioning provider, or related industryStrong understanding of mechanical building systems and energy conservation strategiesDemonstrated experience leading client-facing engineering projectsExcellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensureExperience with energy performance contracting projectsKnowledge of HVAC system design, commissioning, and building controlsExperience supporting K-12 education clients and design-build procurement processesProven success in business development and client relationship managementFamiliarity with energy audits, measurement & verification (M&V), and energy modelingWhy Join CMTA?At CMTA, you'll have the opportunity to lead high-impact projects that improve building performance, reduce energy consumption, and create more sustainable communities.
