Business Analyst

Position: Business Analyst

Location: Tallahassee, Florida

Duration: 9 Months plus

Job Summary







1. Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyze current-state business processes to identify improvement, automation, or technology enablement opportunities.
- Facilitate interviews, workshops, and working sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop process maps, business and functional requirements, and use cases.
- Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities in proposed solutions.
- Align technical solutions with departmental strategies and stakeholder needs.







2. Demand Management & Governance
- Support intake, analysis, and evaluation of technology demands across the organization.
- Develop clear, actionable demand information with stakeholders.
- Analyze business value, alignment, scope, cost, resource needs, and risks of proposed demands.
- Coordinate with OIT functions (architecture, security, service management, etc.) to assess impacts.
- Prepare analysis to support governance, prioritization, and investment decisions.
- Maintain traceability from business need through demand evaluation to project/service delivery.







3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Serve as liaison between business stakeholders
- Facilitate discussions among stakeholders with differing priorities and technical understanding.
- Translate complex business/technical information into clear and concise language.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, subject matter experts, and technical teams.
- Present findings and recommendations to various audiences, including leadership.







4. Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze demand and portfolio data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop reports and transparency measures to support strategic decision-making.
- Standardize and improve business analysis and demand management practices.
- Identify and implement process, tool, and documentation improvements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of OIT governance practices.







5. Solution & Implementation Support
- Collaborate with project and technical teams to ensure requirements are addressed.
- Participate in solution evaluation, validation, testing, and user acceptance.
- Review proposed solutions for alignment with business needs.
- Support transition of approved demands into projects or services.
- Act as a project team member or occasional project lead across multiple initiatives.







6. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 4 years equivalent experience.
- Experience in business/process/requirements analysis and procurement evaluations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to bridge business and technical teams.
- Proficient in documentation, process flows, and executive presentations.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Successful completion of Level II Background Check.







7. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in IT governance, demand/portfolio management, or technology procurement.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT platforms.
- Exposure to project management, ITSM, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, or portfolio management.
- Skilled in facilitating strategic meetings/workshops.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and performance dashboards.
- Knowledge of Agile, ITIL, or process improvement frameworks.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise or public sector environments.
- Familiarity with change management and digital transformation.
- Professional certifications in business analysis, ITSM, or process improvement preferred.
