Neurosurgery Job Requirements

• Board Certified in Neurosurgery required; Board Eligible may be considered if within 3-5 years of residency
• Active physician license required
• DEA certification required
• At least 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in neurosurgery
• FLURO certification required; temporary FLURO may be acceptable
• Ability to provide 100 relevant cases from the past 24 months during privileging
• Updated CV with all hospital affiliations must be submitted
• Gaps greater than 3 months must be explained
• Experience with complex spine surgery cases strongly preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience required if not otherwise specified by privileging requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide general neurosurgical care for adult patients in both clinic and call settings
• Manage inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical consultations and follow-up care
• Evaluate and treat trauma-related neurosurgical cases
• Perform spinal surgery with instrumentation and without instrumentation across cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions
• Place ICP monitors as clinically indicated
• Manage complex neurosurgical cases that may include tumors and VP shunt procedures when appropriate
• Participate in weekday clinic coverage, weeknight beeper call, and weekend call coverage
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting a busy neurosurgery practice in Eureka, CA
