Location Carthage, TX Position Pipefitter Helper. Key Responsibilities Assist pipefitter with setting, assembling, and installing pipe. Possess knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, etc. Prepare pipe and fittings for hoisting and rigging. Familiarize self with different types of metals. Locate and mark bending and cutting lines of the metal. Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary. Operate tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut‑off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, welding machines, and Saw‑Zall. Work safely and accurately. Safety Expectations Actively participate in a strong safety culture. Recognize safety hazards and risks. Participate in onsite safety meetings. Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures. Stay aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite. Arrive on time each day, ready for work. Display a positive attitude and work well in a team environment. Maintain high attention to detail to avoid reworks and errors. Physical Demands Must work in outdoor weather, including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations. Must lift and carry objects up to 60 lbs. Must stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours) and perform body‑maneuvering activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending. Must work on elevated platforms, wearing an approved harness and lanyard. Must handle, control, and feel objects and tools with hands. Mandatory Qualifications 6+ months of experience in an industrial environment. Knowledge of pipe fittings, bolts, valves, and exposure to different metals. Mandatory Job Requirements Must travel for extended periods in remote locations. Must work shifts up to 12 hours per day, up to 7 days per week. Must meet all physical demands of the job. Must attend mandatory safety meetings. Preferred Qualifications 6+ months of experience as a pipefitter helper. Experience reading ISO drawings. Experience in a gas plant construction environment.
