INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE

Overview Under the general supervision of an IT Supervisor II, the incumbent serves as a Desktop Support Analyst supporting business operations in the San Luis Obispo District Office and surrounding area. Responsibilities Provide administrative and technical support on printers, computers, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and telecommunications services. Support all phases of end user device life cycle management including procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, maintenance, operations, and surplus. Provide end user training in the configuration and use of client technologies. Collaborate with peers and management to update and recommend standards, processes and procedures, and technology practices. Track, monitor, and audit IT assets to maintain accountability using standard asset management tools and techniques in compliance with the State Administrative Manual and other applicable policies and regulations. Perform functions including researching, writing, reporting, presenting, and utilizing the prescribed ticketing system for clear, accurate and technical written documentation of customer issues. Consistently use professional customer service and effective communication skills when dealing with customers and coworkers. Participate in intermittent projects or assignments. Qualifications Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Information Technology Associate exam. Candidates without current eligibility must be on the state examination list. Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Desirable qualifications include knowledge and hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Operating systems and productivity suite, Apple mobile devices and iOS, and LAN network support. Working Conditions Position located at 50 Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County. This position may be eligible for telework. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. Business travel may be required. Commute expenses to the headquarters location are the responsibility of the selected candidate. Employees may be required to work for extended periods of time in a climate‑controlled office under artificial lighting using a personal computer. Overtime may be required to resolve problems.
