Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to obstetric patients, including labor and delivery monitoring, fetal status assessment, Maternal-Fetal Medicine considerations, pain management, and postpartum care.
• Assist with, and where appropriate perform, obstetric procedures and deliveries under physician supervision; respond to obstetric emergencies with rapid, patient-centered action.
• Administer medications per orders, monitor for adverse effects, and manage routine postpartum care and newborn stabilization as needed.
• Document clinical data accurately in the Epic EMR; communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and educate patients and families about care plans.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, neonatology, and nursing teams to ensure patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes for mother and newborn.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control practices, and patient safety standards in a fast-paced obstetric environment.

Requirements

• Active RN license to practice in California
• CPR/BLS certification
• Recent obstetric/L&D nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR or willingness to learn
• Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts in a hospital setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to support obstetric care teams
