About This Position:

• Full Time, Night Shift
• This position provides functional guidance to Polysomnographic Technicians and Technologists in the Sleep Disorders Center.
• They assist with precepting, shift coverage and inventory duties.
• In addition to performing all duties of the Polysomnographic Technologist, this position monitors nightly workflow, serves as nighttime coordinator for patient testing, and serves as a resource person on technical and medical matters.
• They will perform duties and tasks of the area's major work functions approximately 60-70% of the time.
• Primary location: Riley Hospital

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
• Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• 5 or more years of Polysomnographic Technologist experience preferred
• Requires current RPSGT or certification as Sleep Disorders Specialist (with an active RRT through NBRC or an active RCP with the state of Indiana).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification.
• Prefer additional experience in respiratory care or neurodiagnostics.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of polysomnographic testing, scoring practices and procedures associated with an accredited sleep disorders center.
• Requires the ability to operate complex equipment, which includes the ability to recognize defective operation and perform minor calibrations or repairs to equipment.
• Requires the ability to recognize defects in the record caused by movement, loose electrodes and local interference.
• Requires independent judgment based on thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures.
• Requires effective communication skills, computer skills, technical adaptability and the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Requires the ability to handle discretionary information.
