Overview Mud Bay’s Store Staff are the heart of Mud Bay. They are flexible, friendly, and focused on providing an outstanding experience to everyone who walks through our doors. Pay & Hours Competitive base pay: The target starting pay is $21.30 per hour, with a range up to $24.50, providing growth through annual increases and promotion potential. When you'd work: Part‑time position, estimated 21 hours per week. Flexible availability for opening or closing shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Possible shifts could look like: Tuesday 12:30‑7:45pm, Wednesday 12:30‑7:45pm, Thursday 9:45‑6:00pm. Responsibilities Provide a happy, educational, and fun experience for all store visitors. Engage dog and cat owners in conversation, connecting on a personal level and helping them find solutions for their animals. Contribute to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long‑term health for dogs and cats. Perform accurate and efficient point‑of‑sale transactions, including opening and closing registers. Make decisions based on good judgment and Mud Bay's Mission and Values. Continuously learn about dogs, cats, and small animals. Contribute to a diverse team that works together in a fun environment. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and attractiveness of the store’s sales and support area. Maintain inventory: receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing. Help the team learn and grow by providing feedback and open communication. Perform keyholder responsibilities: opening and closing the store and registers. Comfortable with a variety of retail shifts. Able to work in multiple locations in addition to their home store, preferably three. Required Skills Must be 18 years or older. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Competent with basic math, comfortable using a computer and calculator, and 10‑key proficiency. Passion for continuously learning about dogs, cats, and small animals. Genuinely enjoys welcoming others. Highly accountable: follows through on commitments. Integrity: says and does what they believe is right. Good judgment: makes rational, ethical decisions aimed at long‑term goals. A self‑starter who also welcomes direction and learning from others. Team player who contributes to colleague happiness and effectiveness. Flexible to adapt to a schedule that reflects customer, coworker, and company needs.
