Job Description and Duties

The Employment Development Department's (EDD) Public Affairs Branch is recruiting for a Digital Marketing Analyst position in downtown Sacramento.
What You'll Do
Under the direction of the Digital Marketing Manager (Supervisor I), this position will:
- Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns that promote EDD programs, services, and initiatives across social media, email marketing, web content, and other digital platforms.
- Create engaging, audience-focused content that helps Californians better understand and access EDD services using clear, plain language.
- Develop strategy and personally create authentic short-form video and social media content for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more.
- Track and analyze campaign performance, social media analytics, and customer engagement data to improve outreach efforts and support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with program teams, leadership, designers, writers, and external stakeholders to develop and review digital content that meets EDD brand, accessibility, and communication standards.
- Support major department initiatives, including EDDNext, by helping modernize how EDD communicates and connects with customers online.
- Stay current on digital marketing trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to help strengthen EDD's digital presence and customer engagement strategies.

This position is headquartered at the New Labor Agency Building (NLAB), a newly remodeled high-rise building. Working Conditions
Visa Sponsorship

The selected candidate must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Schedules may be flexible. This is a hybrid position, and the employee must be able to report to the central office in downtown Sacramento.

Background Investigation Requirement
The position(s) may require an applicant to pass a background investigation. However, applicants will not be asked to provide information about a conviction history unless they receive a conditional offer of employment.
The department will make an individualized assessment of whether the conviction history has a direct or adverse relationship with the specific duties of the job and the work performed by the department. The department will consider potential mitigating factors, including, but not limited to, evidence and extent of rehabilitation, recency, nature and seriousness, and age at the time of the offense(s).
The investigation will consist of completion of a personal history statement and fingerprinting checks with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and/or local law enforcement agencies. Anyone failing to pass the background investigation will be provided information on how to appeal the process. A criminal conviction may not result in an automatic determination of "Not Qualified."
