PIMCO is seeking an Analyst or Associate to join its Client Solutions & Analytics group in Newport Beach, CA. This group leverages PIMCO’s intellectual capital and resources to help our clients make better investment decisions. Specifically, this role will focus on generating actionable investment insights for our financial advisor clients through PIMCO model portfolios, custom portfolio analyses and advisor‑friendly content. The Analyst will participate in a development program designed for a career in investment management, providing broad exposure to financial markets, and portfolio analysis. The Analyst will assist Strategists in the group in performing analyses on client portfolios, developing investment recommendations, and producing customized presentation materials. Position Requirements Four‑year college degree with a major in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or applied science Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent, at an accredited 4‑year college or university 0–2 years of internship/professional experience required Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing) Must be willing to relocate to Newport Beach, CA, if not currently local Desired Candidates Interest in financial markets, macroeconomics and investment finance Strong analytical skill set Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Ability to relay complex ideas clearly Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desire to join a high performance, fast‑paced culture Results‑orientation, attention to detail and strong time management skills Responsibilities Support Strategists in analyzing client portfolios and building presentations that detail PIMCO’s analysis and conclusions Use proprietary software and external data sources to run risk analytics, optimizations, economic scenario analyses, and stress tests Manage a workload of multiple simultaneous projects while ensuring that deadlines are met Maintain standard presentation materials via periodic updates Develop an understanding of PIMCO investment strategies and their risks and benefits in different market environments Collaborate with Account Management, Analytics, and Product Strategy groups PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
