AWS Solutions Architect

Our organization seeks a motivated and skilled Cloud Solutions Architect. The Cloud Solutions Architect plays a strategic role in upholding our reputation for technological excellence and innovation. You will lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of state-of-the-art modern software development and cloud architectures that address our customer’s business requirements and anticipate and plan for future growth and evolution.

As the driving force behind our software modernization and cloud strategies, you will liaise between business units and technical teams, ensuring that the solutions align with our customer’s business goals while integrating seamlessly with existing systems and technologies. You will be hands-on in every project lifecycle stage, from initial brainstorming sessions and stakeholder consultations to the final stages of deployment and post-deployment reviews.

This is a fully remote, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Development :
2. Develop comprehensive solution architectures that align with business objectives and technological advancements.
3. Collaborate with project teams to create customized solutions that address specific business challenges.
4. Assist in the setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
5. Help in developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
6. Stakeholder Engagement :
7. Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and mutual understanding of solutions.
8. Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and feedback from key stakeholders.
9. Technology Evaluation and Integration :
10. Evaluate existing systems and propose enhancements or integrations that can improve functionality and efficiency.
11. Assess potential technology partners and vendors to support solution development and implementation.
12. Documentation and knowledge Transfer :
13. Develop detailed documentation, including architectural diagrams and technical specifications, to guide solution implementation.
14. Facilitate knowledge transfer through training and workshops to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new solutions.
15. Compliance and Governance :
16. Ensure that solutions adhere to industry standards and organizational policies, including data privacy and security guidelines.
17. Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements.
18. Performance Monitoring and Optimization :
19. Monitor the performance of implemented solutions and make adjustments as necessary to optimize results.
20. Work with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise post-implementation.
21. Innovation and Continuous Improvement :
22. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
23. Advocate for the adoption of best practices in solution architecture and design.

Qualifications:

1. Educational Background :
2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3. Master’s degree or professional certifications in related areas are preferred.
4. Certification Requirements :
5. Certification in at least one cloud platform such as AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate), Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate), or Google Cloud (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer).
6. Additional certifications in DevOps or SRE practices (e.g., Docker Certified Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are highly desirable.
7. Experience :
8. 7-10 years of experience in IT or software development, with at least 3-5 years in a solutions architect role.
9. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integration technologies (e.g., APIs, middleware).
10. Skills :
11. Strong technical proficiency with an understanding of various programming languages, databases, and software development methodologies.
12. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on providing practical and innovative solutions.
13. Proficiency in using architectural modeling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, UML).
14. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

All work must be conducted within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories. Some federal contracts require U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment.

As the US Government is our clientele, you may be required to obtain a public trust or security clearance.
