CGI is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to support the Social Security Administration by administering, designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases across multiple domains, servers, and instances. The role includes configuration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, availability group management, security, and support of both custom and COTS applications. This position is 5 days a week onsite at client site in Woodlawn, MD.

Your future duties and responsibilities include: Administering SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments. Creating, documenting, and implementing SQL Server database and development standards. Collaborating with customers, project managers, architects, and developers to define database requirements and structures. Designing, developing, and integrating complex SQL processes. Performing troubleshooting, tuning, and optimization using profilers, analyzers, and execution plans. Creating and optimizing tables, views, indexes, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, and user defined functions. Configuring and managing SQL Server security including roles, permissions, auditing, and policy management. Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting AlwaysOn Availability Groups, including adding/removing databases. Implementing and maintaining database backup and recovery strategies. Providing after hours on call support and performing production deployments during non peak hours. Independently researching and resolving database issues; producing clear documentation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role include: Ability to obtain and maintain US Public Trust Clearance. Bachelors Degree +5 years IT experience. 5+ years working with relational databases. 5+ years in SQL Server database engineering, design, or development. 5+ years with Microsoft SQL Server 2014/2016/2017 (later versions preferred). Strong T SQL development experience (tables, views, indexes, constraints, triggers, stored procedures). Expertise with performance tuning using profilers, query analyzers, and execution plans. Deep understanding of database and application performance optimization. Experience configuring distributed availability groups. Strong ability to administer SQL Server using SSMS and T SQL.

Desired qualifications/non essential skills required include: Experience with Ansible automation tools. Experience with AWS or Azure. Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Bitbucket, JIRA). Data modeling experience using tools such as ERwin. Experience with PowerShell scripting. Exposure to Microsoft Copilot.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $62,900.00 $139,300.00.
