Commissioning Manager - Data Center

Role Description

Are you looking for a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth opportunity? Gilbane is seeking a Commissioning Manager - Data Center to oversee the entire commissioning process to ensure data center systems and components function correctly before the facility goes live.

Responsibilities

• Manages all stages of commissioning process, from initial planning and design reviews to final testing and handover.
• Creates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (like IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklists.
• Ensures the facility and its systems comply with design specifications, health and safety standards, and performance requirements.
• Acts as the main point of contact and manages communication between various teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Prepares and manages all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documents.
• Performs and oversees various tests, such as functional testing and site acceptance testing, to verify system performance.
• Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks.
• Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards.
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
• Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 10-12 years of data center commissioning experience.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of data center systems, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, and IT equipment.
• Ability to manage schedules, budgets, change orders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.

Requirements

• This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office.
• Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
• The pay range is $98,880.00 - $211,970.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
