Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night and Day shifts available Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year of experience preferred License: New York license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: EPIC charting system experience required Description: New York license is required in hand. Specialty: Emergency Room RN. Shift: 3x12 hours with rotating nights and mids. Weekend coverage required every other weekend. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates are not accepted; there is a 75-mile radius restriction. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS. Patient ratio experience is preferred; typical ratio is 5:1. Charting system experience is mandatory with EPIC. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. Daily census can reach around 40 visits. The unit includes a separate evaluation space for behavioral health. Staff typically work 6-hour blocks during the day shifts. Special equipment includes translator devices and various medical support tools. Candidates may be required to float to different areas within the department. Required experience includes managing acute situations such as chest pain, trauma, and respiratory distress. Special procedures include intubation and managing ventilated patients. Candidates need to demonstrate skills in emergency situations and behavioral health crises.
