Express is partnering with a local manufacturing company in Shasta County.

About the Position:

Express is seeking an Associate Warehouse Clerk – Order Picker to join our client warehouse team. The person will be primarily assigned to retrieve inventory from warehouse locations as part of the order fulfillment process, with a focus on domestic sourced orders, but may also be assigned various duties throughout the warehouse as needed to ensure the best service and support to both internal and external customers.

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

Retrieve picking slips and accurately pick products from designated warehouse areas for customer orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.
Include required SDS information as part of the order fulfillment process.
Process Hazardous Materials per safe handing protocols.
Properly pack, seal, and label boxes to prepare for shipping.
Utilize shipping software to compute shipping rates, based on size, weight, contents, hazardous goods. Produce shipping labels and affix properly to each shipment.
Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse picking area(s).
Ensure a neat and organized warehouse at all times.
Collaborate with other warehouse staff, customer service, or sales to resolve issues that arise.
Assist with any special projects or duties as needed.
Perform back up duties in other warehouse functions as needed.
Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
1 year of prior related experience is desired, preferably in a warehouse or production environment.
Must be proficient on computers and able to type. Must be comfortable in Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, Excel. Experience with MRP/ERP system is desirable.
Excellent attention to detail, especially with number sequences.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly, and be able to keep up in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Ability to follow all safety protocols
Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Must write legibly.
Good math skills, and the ability to problem solve and make good judgement calls.
Excellent organizational skills. Must be neat and clean in work habits.
Must be able to handle small items with dexterity and count accurately.
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Prior forklift and pallet jack is desirable.
Able to conform to company policies and procedures.
Be dependable and have a strong work ethic.

Physical Job Requirements:

Must have excellent eye sight to recognize lengthy part numbers. Must be able to communicate verbally and hear instructions. Must be capable of being on feet 8 hours per day and able to get around facility easily. Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently; have the ability to reach overhead and bend easily to the ground. Occasional climbing of stairs, use of step stools. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Working Conditions:

Workstation in warehouse environment swamp cooled only; must be adaptable to working in inclement weather in heat and cold with dust and noise. Will also visit an office environment occasionally.

Shift:

Monday through Friday: 7:30am - 4:00pm and/or as needed

Benefits:

The initial 90 days employment will be through a staffing firm. An offer for full time regular employment may be made at the end of 90 days. For regular full time positions, this client offers generous medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Company match, paid vacation, sick time and holidays.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range is $19.00 - $21.00 depending on experience
