Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with potential overtime and Saturday shifts
Hours: 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed

Position Overview

Viltis is seeking a Lab Tech Aide to support our client's toxicology laboratory team in Pomona, CA. This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and organizing laboratory glassware, utensils, and equipment to ensure efficient daily laboratory operations.

The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of laboratory practices, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established safety, quality, and regulatory procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a high school science background or college-level science coursework who is interested in gaining hands-on laboratory experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain laboratory glassware, utensils, instruments, and equipment according to established procedures.
• Ensure laboratory supplies and equipment are properly organized, stored, and readily available for daily use.
• Assist with the setup and preparation of laboratory equipment and instrumentation for testing and routine operations.
• Support laboratory personnel in conducting chemical and physical testing of materials, liquids, and gases as directed.
• Follow established laboratory safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe laboratory work areas to support efficient operations.
• Handle laboratory materials and equipment carefully to prevent contamination, damage, or disruption to testing activities.
• Communicate equipment issues, supply shortages, and potential safety concerns to laboratory personnel or supervisors.
• Perform additional laboratory support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent with science coursework, and/or college-level science courses.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform repetitive laboratory cleaning and maintenance tasks accurately and consistently.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory setting.
• Availability to work the assigned schedule, including potential overtime and Saturday shifts.

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a laboratory, scientific, healthcare, or regulated work environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory glassware, equipment, and cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of contamination prevention, proper equipment handling, and laboratory quality practices.
• Experience supporting laboratory testing or sample preparation activities.

Compensation and Schedule

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
• Hours: 40 hours per week.
• Overtime: May be required, including Saturdays. Hours worked over 40 per week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.
• Classification: Non-Exempt.
