Fleet ManagerContainerPort Group, a World Group company, is currently looking for a dedicated, driven person to join our family as a Fleet Manager for our new growing terminal in Charlotte, NC!The Fleet Manager is the direct link between our drivers and customers and must build trusting relationships with our drivers and fully support them in day-to-day operations. In addition, the Fleet Manager will be responsible for keeping their fleet committed to shipments that safely maximize productivity and provide on-time service to the customers. Get in touch with us by applying here.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide leadership and supervise our fleet of owner-operatorsMonitor and ensure effective and efficient delivery performance, fleet profitability and compliance with regulationsAssign equipment as neededMaximize efficiency and profitability of every deliveryOversee fair and equitable distribution of loads amongst contractorsPlan and execute order of deliveries to create efficient load drop-offs and pick-upsAbility to accept and decline loads and coordinate with the Customer Success teamNegotiate rates with contractors outside of the ICOADevelop lasting relationships with fleet of contractors to improve performance and encourage retentionResolve customer/terminal/rail disputes involving contractorsMonitor contractor's compliance and use discretion to take appropriate action related to the following: DOT and compliance regulations, controlled substance suspicion, hours of service, vehicle complianceCoordinate required training for fleet of contractorsEducation and Experience:HS diploma required.Alignment with ContainerPort Group's purpose, brand promise and core values.2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experienceWorking knowledge of DOT regulationsExperience working with fleet of contractors/owner operatorsExemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information to customers and owner-operators in a clear, focused, and concise manner.Strategic thinker who is comfortable in a fast-paced, always-on, deadline driven environment.Ability to effectively prioritize and accurately execute time sensitive tasks.Computerized dispatch skills (experience using TMS)Strong computer skills and experience using MS Outlook, Excel, Teams, and WordBenefits/Perks:Competitive compensationComprehensive Benefits package: Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision; Life, AD&D, & Disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; Financial planning401(k) plan with up to 6% company matchPaid Time OffFlexible work arrangementsInternal Mobility & professional development opportunitiesTuition assistanceBonus EligibilityEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
