Clinical Director

About the Role The Clinical Director will oversee the clinical integrity of the practice, support and develop therapists, and lead the ongoing development and performance of both outpatient services and IOP. This person will work closely with leadership (CEO, COO, CMO) to improve retention, outcomes, and overall clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Oversee quality of care across all clinicians and programs Ensure adherence to best practices and ethical standards Support clinical decision-making for complex cases Supervision & Therapist Development Provide supervision and mentorship to clinicians (individually and in groups) Improve therapist performance, engagement, and retention Support onboarding and ongoing training of new hires IOP & Higher Level of Care Oversight Lead the clinical development and ongoing refinement of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Ensure all IOP services meet medical necessity, documentation, and compliance standards (ASAM/LOCADTR where applicable) Oversee group programming, curriculum structure, and clinical quality Supervise clinicians providing IOP services and ensure consistency across groups Partner with admissions to ensure appropriate level-of-care placement Monitor client progress, retention, attendance, and step-down planning Identify gaps in programming and implement improvements Program Development Help build and refine clinical programming across outpatient and higher levels of care Establish clear treatment frameworks and care pathways Collaborate on new service lines and clinical offerings Retention & Outcomes Identify drop-off points in client engagement and improve retention Partner with operations and growth teams to ensure strong client experience Monitor clinical and program performance metrics and recommend improvements Culture & Standards Set the tone for clinical excellence and accountability Foster a supportive, high-performing clinical culture Qualifications Licensed in New York (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Psychologist) 7+ years clinical experience 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Strong experience supervising clinicians in a group practice setting Experience with insurance-based care models Experience building, scaling, or operating an IOP or structured program strongly preferred What We’re Looking For Strong clinical leader who can balance empathy with accountability Able to give direct feedback and elevate clinician performance Systems thinker who can improve consistency across a growing team Comfortable working with performance metrics (retention, attendance, outcomes) Operates well in a fast-paced, scaling environment Location: Hybrid (NYC-based preferred) Why Join Us High-growth practice with real leadership opportunity Ability to shape clinical direction and programming (including IOP) Collaborative leadership team (CEO, COO, CMO) Mission-driven work with diverse client population #J-18808-Ljbffr
