AD, Business Development (Project Development Finance)

We've partnered with a leading global law firm in its search for an Associate Director, Business Development - Project Development & Finance to support one of the firm's most high-performing and internationally recognised finance practices. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior business development professional to work closely with partners and clients on complex, cross-border infrastructure, energy, and project finance matters.

In this role, you will act as a strategic leader and trusted advisor, shaping and executing business development strategy across the Project Development & Finance practice. You'll drive high-impact, multi-disciplinary initiatives that support sustainable growth, deepen client relationships, and strengthen the practice's global market position.

You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to translate market intelligence, client insights, and competitive analysis into clear, actionable growth strategies. From leading sophisticated pitches and proposals to driving thought leadership and client engagement initiatives, you will play a critical role in positioning the practice for continued success.

The successful candidate will be a highly credible advisor to partners and leadership, capable of influencing across a matrixed organisation and delivering measurable impact through commercial, data-driven decision making. You will also champion cross-practice collaboration, enhance BD processes, and mentor team members while driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of strategic business development initiatives for the Project Development & Finance practice
• Drive client engagement, account planning, and relationship management strategies across priority clients and sectors
• Deliver market intelligence, competitive analysis, and client insights to identify new opportunities and inform growth strategy
• Oversee the delivery of complex, high-value pitches and proposals, ensuring innovation, alignment, and best practice
• Partner with marketing and communications teams to develop thought leadership, profile-raising, and market positioning initiatives
• Lead cross-practice collaboration and work closely with global BD, industry, and client teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Act as a senior advisor to partners, influencing strategy, supporting client development, and driving key BD programmes
• Lead major projects and mentor team members, fostering high performance and continuous development
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in BD processes, ensuring measurable impact and alignment with firm priorities
