Lunch Monitor
Woonsocket Education Department - Woonsocket, Rhode Island
Function: To supervise students, under the direction of the building principal, during breakfast and/or lunch periods in the cafeteria, lavatories, and on school grounds; to assist in providing an orderly means of distributing meals and in the disposal of trash and cleaning of the cafeteria area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Report to work promptly.
- Complete time sheets with school secretary on a daily basis.
- Provide supervision of children during lunch and/or breakfast periods.
- Ensure that trays are emptied properly into proper receptacles including recycling.
- Clean/sanitize tables between servings and at the conclusion of the breakfast and/or lunch periods.
- Spot clean the floor during and at the end of the breakfast and lunch periods.
- Minimize movement of students during lunch period by assisting them in obtaining straws, napkins, utensils, etc.
- Give directions to students in a quiet, firm and positive manner.
- At no time are you allowed to physically restrain a student.
- At all times, your behavior should model appropriate school behaviors.
- While on playground duty, be sure to move about so that all areas of the playground are visually supervised.
- Perform other general related tasks as may be assigned.
- Works the schedule as assigned by building principal.

Job Requirements
- Ability to read basic instructions and write reports.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks.
- Must demonstrate neatness in appearance and work.
- Must be able to develop a good rapport with children.
- Clear BCI through National Fingerprinting required by Law, at personal cost of $45 This is an interview position.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
