Finance Controller

Finance Controller Salary: $75,000-$82,000 Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, full year, with occasional work on weekends and evenings. Position Summary: The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and sound fiscal stewardship. This position leads all accounting, budgetary, and financial reporting functions; manages federal, state, and private grant fiscal requirements; and ensures adherence to GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and HeadStart regulations. The controller works closely with the CEO, Executive Team, grantors (including the Office of HeadStart), bookkeepers, and independent auditors, and oversees the implementation of fiscal policies and procedures established by the CEO, Board of Directors, and Parent Policy Council. The controller conducts short- and mid‑range financial planning to support organizational stability and program effectiveness. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field required. Minimum four to six years of experience in accounting, fiscal management, and nonprofit accounting required. Advanced computer system experience required. Minimum four years of progressively responsible management positions, including experience working with boards, preferred. Previous HeadStart experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks and Excel required. Special Qualifications: Proof of physical exam, TB test, and required background checks must be completed. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are desirable but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license and use a reliable automobile. #J-18808-Ljbffr
