Senior Associate Attorney

Role Description We are seeking a Senior Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 4-7 years of experience handling insurance coverage and commercial litigation, preferably in the fields of transportation and logistics, railroad, personal injury and/or admiralty and maritime law. Prior transportation experience is preferred but not required. We are seeking a versatile attorney adept at learning new areas of law, and able to handle complex insurance and commercial matters or complex personal injury defense for transportation entities. The Senior Associate Attorney will be expected to perform the following tasks: Draft pleadings, motions, orders, discovery and legal memoranda. Prepare and respond to written discovery, conduct legal research, and take and defend depositions. Review client documents, draft case evaluations and prepare status report correspondence for clients. Assist with and participate in mediations, pre-trial settlement conferences and court appearances up to and through trial. Interact directly with clients, claim s professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staff. Perform a variety of difficult and complex legal work and operate with substantial discretion and minimal direction or supervision. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois (licensure in other States a plus) Be proficient with Lexis and Microsoft Office. Demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills. Proactively work both independently and as part of a team. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skill and navigate hearings in state and federal court with poise and professionalism. Compensation Range $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 (Full-Time) We will take into account many factors in any final salary offer, to include your experience, education, licensures, performance in interview, market factors, references and other factors permitted by law.This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.This position is full-time, and qualifies for medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits, as well as participation in the Firm's 401k and profit sharing plan.
