Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM | Approximately 15-20 hours/week
Students Ages 14–21

Meta Mindful Connection (MMC) is looking for a committed, coachable, and growth-oriented individual to join our team as an Executive Function & Student Success Coach .

This is a hands-on position working directly with adolescents and young adults ages 14–21. Coaching takes place across multiple environments, including academic settings, online learning, community settings, and real-world workplaces.

At MMC, our goal is not simply to help a student finish an assignment, pass a class, or complete a work task. We help students develop the skills to plan, initiate, organize, communicate, problem-solve, follow through, and reflect so they can gradually take greater ownership of their education, work, and future.

What You'll Do

You will work individually and in small groups with students to develop stronger executive functioning, academic, and work readiness skills.

Responsibilities may include:

• Help students manage courses, assignments, deadlines, grades, and academic expectations.
• Teach and reinforce executive functioning skills including planning, organization, time management, task initiation, attention, self-monitoring, flexibility, and perseverance.
• Help students identify priorities and create realistic plans for completing academic responsibilities.
• Support students using online courses and learning platforms.
• Teach students how to communicate with teachers, ask questions, seek clarification, and advocate for appropriate support.
• Help students recognize barriers, problem-solve, and reflect on what is and is not working.
• Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, employers, community partners, and the MMC team.
• Adjust the level of support based on each student's individual needs and gradually step back as students develop greater independence.

Secondary Math Support

A portion of this position involves supporting students in secondary mathematics .

You should have a working knowledge of secondary math and be comfortable helping students:

• Break mathematical concepts into manageable steps.
• Identify gaps in understanding.
• Practice skills and develop greater consistency.
• Work through problems using appropriate strategies.
• Develop greater confidence and independence in mathematics.

You do not need to know every answer. We value someone who is willing to learn, ask questions, receive training and coaching, and grow in their ability to support MMC's approach to mathematics.

Work Readiness & Employment Coaching

Executive functioning skills extend beyond the classroom. Coaches also help students apply these skills in real-world work and community environments.

Responsibilities may include:

• Support students with job searches, resumes, applications, employer communication, interview preparation, and follow-through.
• Coach students during work-based learning experiences, job shadows, volunteer experiences, and employment.
• Teach workplace routines, expectations, communication, and professionalism.
• Help students learn to arrive prepared, check in appropriately, ask for tasks, follow directions, complete work, and report when a task is finished.
• Teach students how to ask questions and seek clarification when they are unsure.
• Help students receive, understand, and apply feedback.
• Support the development of workplace stamina, consistency, commitment, responsibility, and professionalism.
• Help students learn and complete multi-step tasks.
• Coach students through workplace challenges and unexpected situations.
• Gradually reduce support as students demonstrate greater workplace independence.

Experience working with adolescents or young adults ages 14–21 is strongly preferred.

Experience in education, special education, executive functioning, youth development, secondary mathematics, online learning, vocational training, employment services, or related fields is valuable.

Coaching, Not Doing

An important part of this position is understanding when to help and when to step back .

Our coaches do not take over responsibilities students can learn to manage themselves. We model, teach, practice, provide feedback, and gradually release responsibility.

Success is not measured only by whether an assignment or work task gets finished. We look at whether the student is becoming more capable of initiating, planning, communicating, problem-solving, following through, and eventually doing it without us.
