Operations ManagerThe Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products. This role drives operational excellence by optimizing resources, improving processes, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. The Operations Manager works cross-functionally to achieve production goals while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and oversee daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, safety, customer service, and SIFOT performance objectives.Foster a culture of operational excellence by promoting zero-defect performance in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), quality, and productivity through Operational Discipline (OD).Coach and mentor production teams to embrace a quality-first mindset, continuous improvement, and employee development.Implement Lean manufacturing principles, visual management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.Evaluate production schedules and staffing requirements to ensure adequate labor resources and support appropriate safety stock levels.Design and optimize production workflows that improve throughput while maintaining product quality and workplace safety.Utilize expertise in manufacturing processes, raw materials, quality systems, and cost management to maximize operational efficiency.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and performance standards while developing and supporting production personnel.Provide leadership and guidance to shift managers, resolving operational challenges and identifying productivity improvements.Serve as acting Plant Manager when required, providing leadership across all plant operations.Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and achieving annual EHS performance goals.Support the EHS Engineer by maintaining required health and safety documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.Participate in Tier 3 performance meetings, analyzing key performance indicators and developing action plans to improve results.Effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters and foster a positive, respectful work environment.Lead and coordinate the semi-annual physical inventory process.Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to housekeeping, workplace organization, and 5S+1 standards.Optimize labor utilization while continuously improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational costs.Collaborate closely with Supply Chain to meet customer delivery commitments and SIFOT targets.Manage departmental expenditures and ensure operational activities remain within approved budget guidelines.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.Minimum of seven (7) years of leadership experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.Five (5) or more years of experience using Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems. At least one (1) year of project management experience.Minimum of one (1) year of experience working within an ISO 9001 or comparable quality management system.Three (3) or more years of experience preparing KPI reports, performing cost analysis, and presenting operational performance data.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing operations and applicable industry regulations.Previous experience managing operations within a chemical manufacturing or industrial production environment.Experience leading Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage high-performing teams.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels.Knowledge of inventory management, production planning, and project management methodologies.
