Field Service Supervisor - Solar Robotics

Overview The Robotics Field Electrical & Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all electrical and mechanical aspects of the MAXIMO robotic equipment in the field, ensuring inspection, maintenance, repair and calibration of the fleet. The role requires strong leadership, technical skill and communication across teams. Responsibilities Oversee all electrical and mechanical systems internal to MAXIMO robotic equipment. Inspect, test, service, and troubleshoot robotic electrical components, controls, safety systems, and power systems. Perform and oversee preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on robotic equipment. Diagnose electrical and electromechanical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions. Establish, follow, and maintain standard inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, including Safety/Quality SOPs. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment downtime. Provide routine reporting on robot condition, reliability, and field issues to senior managers. Train and support field mechanics, technicians, and operators on safe operation and electrical awareness related to robotic equipment, and develop training material as needed. Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and robotics vendors. Support continuous improvement efforts related to robot performance and uptime. Work with MAXIMO and field construction leadership teams to promote the vision and secure resources. Enforce safety standards and exercise stop‑work authority when unsafe conditions exist. Serve as point of contact for inspectors or regulatory agencies regarding licensing status of electrically powered robotic equipment. Regulatory, Compliance & Safety Comply with all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the crew. Ensure robotic electrical systems meet applicable safety and regulatory standards. Scope Electrical responsibilities limited to inspection, testing, servicing, and troubleshooting of factory‑built robotic equipment. No electrical installation work is performed. Required Qualifications Founder's mentality: entrepreneurial passion and a make it happen attitude. Experience working with electrically powered equipment or machinery. Strong troubleshooting skills in field or industrial environments. Ability to perform hands‑on mechanical and electrical work. Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments. Ability to travel regularly between job sites. Ability to comply with all site safety and PPE requirements. Capability to work dynamically and collaboratively across multiple teams with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills. Results‑oriented, can‑do attitude; comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining composure and delivering exceptional results. Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotics, automation, or industrial equipment. Experience in solar or renewable energy construction environments. Prior supervisory or lead technician experience. Completion of safety training related to heavy machinery and equipment operation. Location & Logistics Location: U.S., flexible (field‑based).
