Backend Engineer, Data Ingestion

Responsibilities

• Build projects from design through launch across established and new products.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to execute product development.
• Contribute to technical discussions and balance short-term delivery with long-term architecture.
• Maintain strong engineering practices including code review, test coverage, and observability.
• Build and operate high-throughput backend services, queues, and storage systems.
• Improve performance and reliability across services, database queries, endpoints, caching, and critical workflows.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for built systems.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building backend applications.
• Strong experience with Python or Go, or experience with another backend language and willingness to work across Python and Go.
• Familiarity with queues, object storage, and relational or time-series databases.
• Experience debugging production problems using metrics and logs.
• Product-minded, user-centric, empathetic, adaptable to ambiguity and rapid change, and passionate about the work.
• AI/LLM product experience and startup experience are nice-to-have qualifications.
