This position will help enable patients and healthcare providers order testing through the MyOme platform, delivering clarity and meaningful health insights from complex genetics results. The successful candidate will demonstrate first-hand knowledge of designing secure, well-architected applications, familiarity with healthcare systems and data, and have an eagerness to build value through fast prototyping and iteration.What You'll DoAdd functionality to backend systems to support enhancements of our customer-facing portalsSupport partners through reusable and extensible feature buildsDevelop robust APIs that are secure, well-documented, and easy to integrateDebug and solve production issues across services and multiple levels of the stackLeverage AI to assist with planning and implementing solutionsContribute to the team through code reviews, design discussions, and planning future workCollaborate effectively as part of a distributed teamBalance quick wins with long-term technical sustainabilityWhat You'll Need6+ years of experience in backend or platform software development2+ years of healthcare/biotech experienceProficient in Python and Python-based frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Ninja)Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade APIs and web applicationsExperience implementing authentication and authorization systemsAbility to work with a high level of autonomy and responsibilityPerformance engineering experience, including instrumentation, profiling, and optimizationExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare software, or other privacy-focused frontendsKnowledgeable about genetics and genetic testing platformsLocation, Compensation, and BenefitsLocation: Remote in the US or open to hybrid, 2 to 3 days onsite at our San Francisco office.Compensation: Annual salary range of $160,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience.
